Book Review: Towers of Illica

Review:  #630
Title:  Towers of Illica
Series:  Star of Deltora - 3rd book
Author:  Emily Rodda
Read Before:  no
Comments:  The Towers of Illica manages to capture the same fantastic storytelling from the previous novels as it continues Britta’s journey on the Rosalyn fleet in her attempt to win the contest.  It took a longer than expected time until Britta arrived as the third and final island of Illica but the mysteries deepen as people tries to kill Britta.  The Staff of Tier and her father is finally shed in some light, even though much of it still remains unknown.  It’s a shame that Britta is always the in the receiving end of bad fortune, this time being accused of something she didn’t do, and having to just accept it.  Illica isn’t as interesting as the previous two islands as the traditions are weird and unusual, but it holds a lot of mysteries.  It felt that the plot didn’t have a true climax but it was engaging enough to make you want to continue on and find out the ending of this series.
