Book Review: Cage of Eden Volume 16

Review:  #528
Title:  Cage of Eden Volume 16
Series:  Cage of Eden - 16th volume
Author:  Yoshinobu Yamada
Read Before:  yes
Comments:  While Sengoku gets out of the clutches of the evil doctor in this volume, the arc is not over yet.  A lot of focus is put onto Yarai, who arrives at the pyramid with sensei in tow, trying to get the doctor to heal her.  Mami also spends most of her time thinking about the vision she had of Yarai and Sengoku fighting each to the death, which can seem repetitive.  Some fan service sneaks in as well but by this point, it is expected and doesn’t detract too much from the plot.  More of the island’s mystery is wiped away but it raises more questions than it answers.  There is a decent amount of time spend on motivational speeches and how much Sengoku has changed etc, which can be cringeworthy.
